On July 25, 2016, WTW Films Limited sold the premiere rights for TV series Step Dan to broadcasters in Russia and Ukraine. In both countries the series will air on the major TV channels.
Filming on the project is ongoing, with editing and post-production scheduled for the fall. The TV premieres are slated for 2017. Step Dan is a Ukrainian adaptation of a successful New Zealand series Step Dave.
The premise:
Their romance begins with a typical one-night stand. Dan has the perfect life. He is 24, good-looking, witty, takes his success with women for granted and never gets tied down to a serious relationship. Tina is 39, a successful business woman and mother of three. They meet in a bar under unusual circumstances, but with entirely usual consequences: a date, followed by sex with no strings attached, which suits them both perfectly – that is, until Dan realizes that he has fallen head over heels in love. But can Dan be a step-father to Tina’s three children? And what’s to be done about the children’s grandmother, who has fast taken a strong dislike to the “boy toy”? How will Tina’s friends react to such an obvious mismatch? And how will Tina feel when she discovers one day that Dan’s mother is an old school friend of hers?
