Filming of the Baby Boxes second season has just been finished. Its premiere is planned for late September on Ukraina TV channel.
The first season of the series broadcast in spring 2016 was watched by almost 17 million viewers.
Within a week on Ukraina TV channel, Baby Boxes was ranked the first among top 20 programs for 18-54 (50+) audience – its average ranking and viewing share amounted to 3.8% and 12.7% respectively. For 18+ audience (all Ukraine) the share of Baby Boxes series was 25 per cent higher than the average daily share of Ukraina TV channel, and the average film ranking and share for this audience amounted to 5.93% and 15.39% respectively. Besides, in the time slot the series was broadcast in the share of Ukraina TV channel was 46% higher than that of its closest competitor.
Baby Boxes, a melodrama series, is dedicated to the complicated issue of abandoned infants. It is a film about salvation and kindness, human vices and a huge will to live; it tells stories about choices and describes an opportunity to become a whole world for someone.
Each episode of the series is a story about saving a newborn infant planted in the so-called “baby box”, a special box equipped in a maternity clinic or a children’s hospital for those who would like to get rid of the infant anonymously. Our characters are doctors and medical staff of the children’s hospital who take the foundlings on, treat them, surround with kindness and care. There are also parents worth this name – those who have come to a conscious decision to become a father or a mother to someone else’s child. Still, the baby remains the central character, because it is around him or her that all the events unfold.
