House with the Lilies, To See the Rainbow, Dr. Baby Dust, and feature film Battle for Sevastopol to be shown by leading Russian channels

In August and September 2016, WTW Films Limited sold the most successful of FILM.UA’s series (House with the Lilies, To See the Rainbow, and Dr. Baby Dust)and the feature-length historical biopic Battle for Sevastopol to leading Russian television channels.

Dr. Baby Dust is a 40-episode melodrama whose main character, Doctor Shirokov, arrives in a provincial town to take up the post of resident physician in the women’s wing of the hospital. The series premiere met with huge success in Russia, Kazakhstan, and particularly in Ukraine, where it topped the audience ratings in its second week.

House with the Lilies is a family saga which tells the story of frontline war hero Mikhail Govorov and the women and children he loves, taking the viewer on a journey spanning several generations through the Soviet and post-Soviet period from the mid-twentieth century to today. House with the Lilies was named best series of 2014 in Ukraine, and also topped the ratings for most successful film or serial on Russian television from the start of 2014. The series’ YouTube channel has received more than 10 million views.

To See the Rainbow is a 4-episode crime drama which garnered 1.9 million viewers in Ukraine. The series exceeded the broadcaster’s average audience by 45% and put the TV channel among the leaders for its time slot.

Battle for Sevastopol is a feature-length historical biopic based on the true story of Lyudmila Pavlichenko, the legendary female sniper who notched up a total of 309 enemy kills over the course of the Second World War. The series was nominated for 25 awards and won 14, some at the international level, including a nomination at the VES Awards for outstanding visual effects.
